Change and Progress

Wade Hinton, Attorney at Law

When asked why he chose to return to Chattanooga when many of his contemporaries were pursuing opportunities in Nashville, Atlanta and beyond, attorney Wade Hinton cites the changes he witnessed here in the early ‘90s. The aquarium loomed as the cornerstone of downtown’s resurgence and soon there were other visible changes taking place throughout downtown – Jack’s Alley, retail shops, restaurants, cafes. He felt these were all signs of more progress to come.

A native of Chattanooga, Hinton returned home to pursue his professional interests after graduating from Emory University and University of Memphis. Prior to starting his own law business XYZ, which is a full-service law firm, he served as Title VI Director for Hamilton County.

The decision to become an entrepreneur was prompted, in part, by Hinton’s ability to recognize the opportunities that are present through the local government's emphasis on small business. He noted two recent developments, The Center for Entrepreneurial Growth and the Business Enterprise Center as examples. He sees these efforts and complementary initiatives offered by the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, as means to not only attract businesses to Chattanooga, but also as ways to assist existing businesses with expansion.
